BALERNO MUSIC FESTIVAL – Report
Artie’s Tartan Tales (Sunday 7 October) was well attended with around 47 children and 37 adults. There was some initial panic when Artie contacted us to say he was stuck on the M8 due to a serious accident. He made it just in time, set up in record time and performed almost right away for a full hour. What a professional!
The concert on Friday 12 October with Sangsters in concert supported by George Machray was excellent with Sangsters in great form and George performing some brand new songs.
Lastly there was the folk music session, held this year in the new function room at the Grey Horse. There was a great variety of songs and we were delighted to welcome back our regular Irish visitors, our fiddler friends from Currie and also to see George Machray there. The room was great acoustically and an enjoyable afternoon was had by all.
